Aisling D’Art is the pen name of one of New Forest Books’ owners. She’s been self-published since the 1970s, and traditionally published since the 1980s.
Best known for her quirky mixed media art, collages, and fabric art, Aisling has taught classes at Dragon Con (for nearly 10 years), Artfest, Art & Soul, Celebrate Art, and more.
She’s also a third-generation artist, and – under her birth name, Eileen Morey – she’s a fine artist, illustrator, and photographer.
She is the author of the original “bold and easy” coloring book, a phrase she invented because her coloring books’ lines were bold, and that made them easy to color.
Initially designed for young children and for art therapy use, the “bold & easy” concept was soon adopted by other coloring book artists.
In coloring books today, “bold and easy” no longer means what it once did, but Aisling hopes to give it fresh energy in 2027.
